The Twelve Dates of Christmas
Not Feeling The Holidays This Year? We Get It.
In the true spirit of this particular holiday season, the Children’s Theatre Workshop presents a grumpy, bitter, one-woman play as a benefit performance: The Twelve Dates of Christmas.
About the Show
Toledo actresses Aimee Reid and Laura Crawford will each perform The Twelve Dates of Christmas, by Ginna Hoben. In this 75-minute production, Mary’s life falls apart after seeing her fiancé kiss another woman at the televised Thanksgiving Day Parade– just in time for the holidays. Over the next year, she stumbles back into the dating world, where “romance” ranges from weird and creepy to absurd and comical. It seems nothing can help Mary’s growing cynicism, until the charm and innocence of a five-year-old boy unexpectedly brings a new outlook on life and love.
Each actress takes a weekend to perform the play for audiences: Ms. Reid performs December 10-12 and Ms. Crawford performs December 17-20. Audiences can see their favorite local performer or tune in both weekends to see a new take on the story each time!
Tune In And Support CTW!
Twelve Dates of Christmas is presented as a benefit performance to help the Children’s Theatre Workshop (CTW) continue operations during the Covid-19 pandemic. All ticket sales go to benefit CTW. As a fundraising benefit, this performance is designed for audiences ages 18 and over. Due to the content of the performance, CTW does not recommend viewing with young audiences.
