The Creative and Brave Company is the theatre for social change program at the Children’s Theatre Workshop. This free program is comprised of teens who use their theatre skills to create theatre intended to inspire, provoke, and question.
The 2019-2020 CBC wrote a play inspired by “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Jungle Book,” which addresses the pressure that adolescents experience and the insidiously natural way they are pushed toward harmful behaviors like drug abuse and sexually pressuring partners. The 2021-22 CBC will produce this 60 minute play.
“To Each Their Own Madness” follows two seniors in the days leading up to Homecoming, exploring their relationships, humor, confusion, and pressure. Grades, romance, ambition–it’s more than anyone can handle on their own.
