Synopsis: Welcome to the Fairy Tale Café, where Tessa and her assistant Abigail serve magical treats featuring sugar, spice, and everything nice to the princesses, heroes, and good fairies of the kingdom. But Abigail dreams of a more interesting life, maybe even with an adventure that would require her to be rescued by a prince!
The peace of the café is disrupted when Tessa’s cousin Penelope barges in, uncharacteristically claiming ownership and scheming to turn the café into a haven for villains. She’s accompanied by Beetroot, a conspiring fairy who works for the Evil Queen. To save the café, Abigail turns to the customers themselves to devise a plan to thwart Beetroot’s evil spells. In the end, Abigail becomes the real hero, saving Tessa and the café and learning that adventures come in many different forms. From pioneerdrama.com

Synposis: Lewis Carroll’s Wonderland characters are so… well, wonderful that favorite playwright Brian D. Taylor has brought them together in an original story with the same wit and whimsy as the classic tales. Mad Hatter, Dormouse, and March Hare meet for a tea party to honor Time, who has forgiven the Hatter and set time right once again. When the Jabberwock comes and wreaks havoc, the tea party guests — including the Caterpillar, the Duchess, the Frog Footman, and Tweedledee and Tweedledum — decide that something must be done. Time suggests they travel back through time to the moment when the Jabberwock arrives so that they might catch him. They travel back several times, but White Rabbit’s watch is fast, Hatter’s is slow, and they just can’t catch the Jabberwock. Finally, Hare realizes they must fix the nick in Time… Time’s cloak, that is, to save them from the Jabberwock! After all, a stitch in Time saves nine! pioneerdrama.com

The below programs are closed for registration as they have already begun.
What kind of role will my child receive in the musicals?
We only accept as many students as we have available roles. We keep the musicals small so each student has a chance to shine onstage! The first few days of the summer musicals are purely instructional; students will learn about the show, practice auditions, and get to know about the process. They will audition and each enrolled child will be assigned a role.
We’re going on vacation at some point during rehearsals. Does that mean we shouldn’t sign up?
It’s pretty common for campers to miss rehearsals occasionally for vacation. Just tell us in advance which rehearsals you can’t attend so we can plan accordingly. However, if you know you’ll miss 2 weeks or more of rehearsals, we recommend choosing a different program so your camper doesn’t struggle to learn all their songs and dances.
What are the performances like?
Our summer musicals are just like our school-year plays. They are fully-mounted productions with sets, costumes, and 3 performances for a public audience.
What activities occur in the Acting Camps?
Theatre camps are 2 weeks long so the campers have time to prepare a short play! We will also teach acting skills, audition skills, improvisation, and other skills related to their age group and interest! Every day includes two snack breaks, a lunch break, and a little free time–it is summer time, after all!
Is there a performance?
Yes! The Acting Camps all perform for friends and family at the Ohio Theatre on the last day of camp.
I have a child who will have a birthday during/just before/just after a program. What’s the right group for my child?
If your child has a birthday during a program, pick a program that suits their new age. If it’s just before or after, give us a call and we’ll help you figure out what may be a good fit!
What are the snack/lunch expectations?
Campers must bring a packed lunch. Please send it with them in the morning. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate parents picking up their camper for lunch. We can store a limited amount of lunches in our refrigerator.
We will provide two snacks during camp: one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Our snacks are usually a cracker (like goldfish), cookie, fruit snacks, or fresh fruit. You are also welcome to send your own snacks with your camper. We keep water on site for your camper to have whenever needed, but encourage them to bring a water bottle for fewer interruptions.
What’s the dress code?
We don’t require any special clothing beyond wearing closed toed shoes (no flips flops or sandals) and comfortable clothes that do not portray anything profane or inappropriate. Our crafts can get messy, though!
What do I do if my child is not a strong reader?
We’re ready for that! Just tell us before camp starts so we can accommodate.
My child doesn’t want to act in the play but wants to enroll in camp. What are our options?
That largely depends on yours and your child’s expectations for what they WILL do in camp. Give us a call and we’ll figure out what’s possible!
What activities occur in the Musical Theatre Camps?
Song and dance are the major activities for these camps! Each week our teachers select 2-3 songs that our campers will learn. We will also teach acting skills, audition skills, improvisation, and other skills related to their age group and interest! Every day includes two snack breaks, a lunch break, and a little free time–it is summer time, after all!
Is there a performance?
Not a full performance, but a small sharing for immediate family on Friday. We’ll email you exactly when to come in, but it will likely be about 12:45 pm for the 4-5 year olds, and between 4 and 4:40 pm for the older students.
Connecting Kids to Meals is providing free lunch and a snack, so there is no need to pack a lunch unless you want to send one along with your child.
Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate parents picking up their camper for lunch nor sending Door Dash. We can store a limited amount of lunches in our refrigerator.

My child doesn’t want to sing or dance but wants to enroll in camp. What are our options?
They should consider our Theatre Camps! Those are for our campers who are NOT interested in musical theatre.
What types of technical theatre work will my camper do?
This program is a combination of design and construction. Most of what they will do is creating designs for set pieces, costumes, lights, and props, and then making them. They will not be using blades in this program, but are likely to use screw guns, sewing machines, and hot glue. We will provide materials unless the camper wishes to bring their own.
What’s the dress code for this program?
We don’t require any special clothing beyond wearing closed toed shoes (no flips flops or sandals) and comfortable clothes that do not portray anything profane or inappropriate. Set painting can get messy, though! We will announce in advance if they will need to wear work/paint clothing.
My camper requires accomodations. What do I need to do to arrange this?
We would be happy to help! Anything from a “one on one” partner to ASL interpreter to shortened camp days, we will work with you to make sure your camper has what they need to have a successful and fun experience! Just send us an email and we will get in touch to help! We do ask that accessibility arrangements be made two weeks in advance so we have adequate time to prepare.
We can offer scholarships for any of our programs for Summer 2026. Head to our scholarship page and fill out the information! We have a limited amount of scholarships to offer, and they are accepted on a rolling basis until all the scholarships have been awarded. You can request a half scholarship (covering 50% of the tuition) or full scholarship.
Please note that we also offer payment plans for any program over $100!
Teens should apply for our Summer Teen Volunteer Program–if they help out with our Acting or Day Camps, they can receive discounts on their camp fees as a thank you!
